UCI Sunday – The Ride

For some reason there were just two hardy souls and myself who rocked up at Hornbeam this morning where it was slightly damp, but then skin seems to be the most waterproof material around. A selfie, making use of the bike storage shelter, was the order of the day before we left for a quick trip round part of the circuit for the Men’s Elite Race, before dropping into Hampsthwaite and dripping all over Sophie’s floor. After coffee, toasted teacakes for some and conversation with visitors to see the Men’s Race we returned up the river of Hollins Hill, dropped Paul at home and headed off home for hot showers and the comfort of a warm dry space to see the nine circuits of the men’s race. A bit of fresh air and some exercise and a lot of wet clothing!    James G
