Wanderers
Another cold February morning didn’t deter eleven Wanderers wishing to wander. Two groups down to Low Bridge greeting the EGs as they were venturing out. There was ice on the road between Ferrensby and Arkendale but thankfully it was safely negotiated by all. Round the outskirts of Marton and Great Ouseburn and then the very pleasant ride through the Dunsforths. With the roads drying and the sun briefly making a guest appearance we made Hideaway in really good time. With some reorganisation of chairs with staff approval we all got round the upper table. I must commend Sara our customer care assistant for her excellent handling of our orders and obliging us by taking the group photo. I hope our laughter didn’t upset her other customers. The food was bang on and quickly served. Thank you. Unfortunately it had started to drizzle/rain by the time we left so saying goodbye to Dave who had to get back we pushed on to Roecliffe and Bishop Monkton while Mike C chose the bridlepath to head to Copgrove. Back through Farnham and the climb up Knaresborough hill. We said our goodbyes outside the golf club. Grateful for a good ride out and in the company of likeminded individuals. Thank all.

Medium Steady
It was one of those -4C mornings or it certainly felt like it, but that had not deterred a bunch of Wheel Easy riders from meeting at the Showground. Mostly Wanderers but six joined me for Route 13 – Sarah, Tim4, Bob, Ian, Tony and Yvonne. With that line up the ride was brisk not steady but just the job on a very cold day. Our destination was Boston Spa and Route 13 provides a nice balance of road and cycle path. The village Hall was being prepared to host a beer festival so the Wise Owl cafe was closed, but a little way up Main Street is the delightful Pudding Lab. It’s small but the staff were eager to rearrange the furniture and quickly provided pastries and hot drinks. The return route passed through Clifford where Bob departed to explore regions to the south while we headed north along the A1(M) cycle path to Wetherby. At North Deighton we paused for the customary photo after which it became wet and wintry for the dash back to the Showground. 35 miles, 1962ft ascent at average 12.5mph for me. Tim2
