It was a cold damp morning that greeted five WE members who were ‘up’ for a ride today. Eric , Tim 1, Mike Wills, Bridget and myself. Not much of a discussion on the route but it was decided to miss out the Thorner loop which proved to be a wise choice. Burn Bridge was soon behind us and the climb to Kirby Overblow warmed us up. Tim said the temperature dropped to -1 as we approached Sicklinghall. On to Wetherby then up the side of the A1 to Bramham. into Clifford, Boston Spa and the call of a coffee could be heard. Pretty dismal car boot at Thorp Arch which meant seating and queue at the cafe stop weren’t an issue. By the time we came out the temperature was at a tropical +4. The roads were drying and I believe the sun made an appearance. Pushing on we were soon through Kirk Deighton, Little Ribston and the homeward route to the showground. All in all it the ride turned out ‘not bad’. We all got back dry and warmed up. Thanks to my fellow ‘die hard’ riders. Home to home 37.2 miles for me. Colin B
