Route description: A gentle ride which takes in two lovely long descents of Water Dale (often called Thixendale after the village at the lower end) and Millington Dale. These dales are noted for their flora and are botanically distinct.
Travel time from Harrogate: 50mins.
Car Parking: Free parking at Viking Road Car Park; first right after the bridge/traffic lights going into Stamford Bridge from the west.
Toilets/Refreshments at start: There are toilets near the car park( free) but there are no cafes close by for an early coffee.The Bakehouse in the The Square does takeaway coffee.
Coffee Stop: None
Lunch Stop: The Madhyamaka Maeditation centre at Kilnwick Hall ,near Pocklington ( 26 miles) NB This is a Vegan cafe. The menu can be viewed by looking at:- www.madhyamaka.org/world-peace-cafe-and-gift shop. For those who need their meat the Mile Farm Shop just north of Pocklington is on the route (28 miles).
