Travellers’ Tales

On the evening of Thursday 27th October 2022 we saw the latest incarnation of Travellers’ Tales, our occasional events where members share their stories of a wide variety of bike trips. Over 40 members turned up to the Empress to hear the presentations, and for those who could not make it there is a flavour included below. Thanks to all the speakers and to Mike Walsh for organising at short notice.

Vince Grealy spoke about a short trip to ride the Five Ferries route in the Scottish islands in the Firth of Clyde.

Colette Kon described her formative bike packing trip from London to deepest Surrey and the challenge of carrying your camping gear.

Chris & Karen Bishop presented their wonderful trip through France & Belgium, taking in WW1 history, the kindness of strangers and the Tour Grand Départ

Janet Glynn extolled the virtues of cycling in Mallorca (in advance of the club trip next year!)

Mike and Fiona Walsh recounted their late lockdown trip from London back to Harrogate via splendid cycle paths and back roads
