Medium Steady Ride
Not a bad morning weatherwise but only twelve riders in total today. As Steve B was in recovery mode he didn’t feel upto leading the medium plus so we all settled for the medium steady apart from Sarah who did her own thing. Usual route to Little Almscliffe where Gia, Bridget, Steve and Martin peeled off. Paul left us at Fewston and Monica swung off after Timble. Lots of surface water over to Blubberhouses and the climb upto Thuscross was certainly felt. We had decided on Sophie’s for refreshment and as we swooped down through Thornthwaite and Darley the forecasted rain had arrived. It was ‘not good’ . Big puddles. We arrived in Hampswaite and John headed straight home while four of us ‘shoehorned’ our selves(with Sophie’s help) into a very busy cafe stop. Suitably refreshed the rain had eased (or maybe it hadn’t) a little as we headed for Sprusty bridge. Rob departed in Bilton, Gordon swung right on the Greenway while James and I headed for Knaresborough and home. Waterproofs held up pretty well.
