Short Ride
Three of us stayed with the Medium Ride until the top of Briscoe Ridge Lane where, after some discussions, three of us separated off for a shorter route and a ride through the quiet lanes to Leathley and a cafe stop at the Leathley Farm Shop. We returned back up to Almscliffe Crag with spectacular views along the Wharfe Valley and homewards via Burn Bridge. A Grand Day on the bike! MW

Medium Steady Group 1
Six chaps Mike, Marc, Andy, Tim2, Peter and Phil rolled off to follow Route 257 to Briscoe Ridge and several other testing climbs before reaching the ride summit at Norwood from which it was relatively downhill all the way. The temperature was ideal for cycling, but the strong winds were anything but, particularly along the gated road where gusts produced some sideways cycling. However, the wind had blowen away the gloom of previous weeks and left spectacular views of the Washburn valley. A swift wind assisted ride back to Ripley where we parted company. About 30miles and 2,800 feet of climbing.
Medium Steady Group 2
Undeterred by strong gusts of wind, our group of seven set off to tackle the steep hills in beautiful Yorkshire scenery. Plenty of crocuses and daffodils to make it feel like spring. It was the first ride in months for some of us, but we were helped with electrical assistance.
Strong gusts on top of Briscoe Ridge added to the challenge. We were rewarded at the newish café in Ripley with pork pies and coffee. Thanks to everyone for your jovial company and usual banter. 29 miles with a few hills. Bridget

Medium Plus Brisk
Route 25 up to Stump Cross Caverns for today – perhaps a tad adventurous for February in North Yorkshire but most of the snow & ice has now gone from Greenhow. It was windy up Norwood Lane. It was very windy going up Duck Street & it was bonkers from Greenhow to the café. Any bit of shelter along the route was welcome. On the other hand, coming back was better for much of the time. Steve, Handsome Tim, Young Tim & Vince partook of 41 miles. T3
