Birstwith, Darley and Fewston Reservoir (25 miles)

Knox bridge, cross A61 to Grainbeck Lane. L and R to Hampsthwaite. In Hampsthwaite village left L up the main street, next R then 2nd R. Next L into Tang. Straight on towards Kettlesing Bottom. Next R, straight on over X roads. L past Menwith Hill. Left at X roads and along B6451, cross A59, then 2^nd R. Continue through Fewston, over dam to YW car park (toilets). Return over dam and continue through Fewston village (café at Visitor Centre) over 2nd dam to climb up to B6451. Turn R and L along Watsons lane. L and over moor to Beckwithshaw, returning to Harrogate via Howhill Road and Whinney Lane past Squinting Cat.

Route 188 offers a minor variation.
