Route description: A slightly shorter version of previous routes from Thrisk to Northallerton (Routes 1036, 1050). The first half takes in an undulating route beneath the Hambleton Hills with an easier crossing of the A19. The return to Thirsk is pleasantly flat with views of the North York Moors.

Travel time from Harrogate: 45 mins.

Car Parking: Millgate Car Park, Marage Rd, Thirsk (What3Words: ///clearing.caged.headliner). £5.80 all day by cash or card.

Toilets/Refreshments at start: Free toilets at the car park. A number of cafes can be found in the Market Place (about 3min walk from car park). Yorks of Thirsk opens at 9am.

Coffee Stop: None

Lunch Stop: South Side Slice, Zetland Street (the old Joe Cornish Gallery) in Northallerton. About 17 miles.
