Forest of Bowland (53 miles)

Start at National Park car park in Clapham.  Short downhill across (or underneath) A65 and past Clapham station.  Long but gradual climb up to Bowland Knotts, down through Gisburn Forest by the reservoir, round to Waddington (coffee at Waddington Arms), Whitewell, Dunsop Bridge (lunch at Puddleducks), Newton by Bowland, Slaidburn, superb climb up to Cross of Greet (views of the Lake District and all ‘Three Peaks’), fast descent towards Bentham, sharp right to Keasden, and a minor detour via Austwick for a well deserved drink before spinning the last 2 miles back to Clapham.
