Unable to start the medium ride at Hornbeam as I was trying to track down some hard to comeby Calor gas for my motorhome I decided to chase the group down!!?. Having successfully obtained said gas I left home just before 10. I had seen the group pass my home en-route to Low Bridge and reckoned I was about 10 minutes behind.

After Farnham I decided to stick to tarmac rather than the official route Copgrove/Roecliffe bridleway so I went to Staveley Minskip and Boroughbridge. On to Dishforth and Marton Le Moor. No sign of group. Took a gamble on Spa Gardens for lunch and bingo there they were. Result. Five other riders. As we discussed the next part of the route I didn’t fancy the climb from Markington up to Chequers cross road (legs still not up to it). So leaving Spa I actually rode with the group as far as Bishop Monkton where Mike P and myself headed for Occaney Beck and home. So almost a solo run. 34 miles for me. Colin B
