Short Ride
In spite of the rain and the forecast of plenty more to come during the morning ten ( fool)hardy riders turned up at the showground this morning. The decision was soon made that we would all attempt the short ride. The forecasters were spot on today and the rain became heavier as we made our way out of the showground against the flow of traffic coming in for the motorhome show. By the time time we got to Burn Bridge Debbie and Kevin decided enough was enough and peeled off. The faster guys went ahead and we all regrouped in Sophie’s looking like drowned rats. Sophie made us all welcome and provided various items of clothing to sit on to protect the seating. After refreshments and warming up we split up to take the shortest routes to our various homes. I caught up with what was left of the group for a photo at Ripley in between showers. Thanks to everyone who braved the conditions and many thanks to John C for excellent back marking duties. Twenty one rather damp miles for me. Steve B.
