Medium Ride

Good flat ride to Bishop Monkton and Boroughbridge and enough room at Plenty for the nine of us. Home in time for late lunch and avoided the rain. Thanks to Mike and John for marshalling this unled ride. 38 miles and thanks to everyone in the group which made it a very pleasant day out. And the parsley soup was delicious! Gia

Short Ride

Five went to Nidd. And Brearton, Scotton, Farnham then to the Ugly Duckling caff in Knaresborough. Only lost one! Must be a record. Ca. 21 easy, gentle miles. A proper short ride indeed. Paul B

Short Away Day

Despite a discouraging forecast, 6 riders gathered at Tadcaster for a short awayday ride to York, via Bolton Percy, crossing the racecourse and along the river for coffee in Rowntree Park. Jean, Sarah, Rachel, Justine, Fiona and Mike then set off back via Askham Richard. We luckily missed any rain and enjoyed a 28 mile ride with good chat all the way. M Walsh

Medium Plus Steady

Yesterday I decided to fit mudguards and winter tyres to the bike after reading the weather forecast for today. After much tyre wrestling and a couple of rides around the block all was well, until this morning when I found a flat back tyre at 9 am! So more tyre wrestling and then set off 15 mins late to catch up with the Medium plus steady ride. I thought maybe I could catch them by Wetherby for a cafe stop, no sign of anyone before I reached Wetherby and I didn’t want to tour all the cafes so carried on to complete the published ride, taking a couple of gels for lunch!! In the end I did 54 miles @ 13 mph and 3,200 feet of climbing. I never did catch anybody and to cap it all it didn’t rain at all, just a bit windy nearer to home. Steve B.
