Long Ride

Only three riders turned up to do the Long Ride today.  It became obvious from the outset that the ride as described in the calendar was going to be curtailed.  The weather forecast was for rain sometime in the afternoon so an early return was called for.  With a strong tailwind we made great time to Kilburn via Boroughbridge, Sessay and Carlton Husthwaite.  From Kilburn we rode towards Bagby with the intention of taking refreshments at the Old Barn Coffee Shop.  While we were having our meal, the skies darkened and the wind started to increase in force.  We now had to battle against a very strong headwind all the way back to Harrogate.  We encountered a brief shower outside Boroughbridge but this was soon blown away by the wind.  PCJ
