Farnham, South Stainley, Ripley (25 miles)

Hornbeam, Claro Road, Dragon Bridge, Bilton Lane, Beryl Burton Way to Knaresborough, on road to Farnham. Turn right in Farnham at village green, tarmac ends at 1km, continue on track and over hill for 2km. Turn left at bottom of hill before beck, and continue on track, (which eventually becomes surfaced) for 2.5km. Turn right at T and follow for 2km through to South Stainley. Cross A61 (CARE!) and pass under disused railway arch. Continue for 2km on track to High Cayton, straight thro farmyard (2 gates), continue across field, thro gate and left following track for 2km along side of wide valley and up steep hill, becoming tarmac, and drop down to B6265. Cross road and into Ripley (cafe). Leave Ripley and along track through Ripley Woods (Holly-Bank Lane), continue on tarmac to T junction, left and drop down to Hampsthwaite. Return via Killinghall and Knox village.
