Tan Hill and Kirkby Stephen (45 miles)

Awayday route. Park on the green in Reeth (honesty box parking fee). Cafe stop in Kirby Stephen.

Don’t think that it is all downhill from Tan Hill to Reeth – it isn’t! Alternatively, try in reverse for the long slow climb up Tan Hill, and a slightly shorter one (but considerably harder) out of Kirkby Stephen.
