Many congratulations to Malcolm from all of us at Wheel Easy

Malcolm was recently presented with his well-earned British Empire Medal at a very enjoyable ceremony at Camp Hill, the home of the current Lord-Lieutenant of North Yorkshire, Mrs Jo Ropner who made the presentations on behalf of the Queen. There were six other recipients of the BEM and the citation for each was read out before they were presented with their medals and certificates. The breadth and depth of voluntary work that these illustrated was quite amazing from Wild Water and Long Distance swimming to cycling and a variety of Community projects. Even Malcolm was quite surprised by what he had done! There were the usual photograph sessions from which a sample appear below and afternoon tea with some fabulous cakes followed, during which there was an opportunity to chat with the Lord-Lieutenant who it transpired is a very keen cyclist herself. It was an excellent day from start to finish which did Malcolm proud and which he will surely remember for many years to come. Once again very many congratulations to Malcolm on this award from all of us at Wheel Easy.
