Club Challenge Rides – Save the Date: Sunday 2nd July 2023
This year’s charity challenge ride event will be held on Sunday 2nd July, with the 40, 60 and 100 mile routes slightly amended from 2022 to take account of members’ comments and, of course, the closure of Aldwark Bridge.
Each route has been designed to provide an enjoyable ride and offer a suitable challenge whatever your ability. There will not be any other club rides on the day.

Supporting the Yorkshire Air Ambulance
Although the event is primarily intended for Wheel Easy members, we would also welcome any family and friends who are looking for a great day’s cycling in support of our chosen charity the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. Founded on October 25th 2000 the Yorkshire Air Ambulance is an independent charity providing a lifesaving rapid response emergency service to 5 million people across the whole of Yorkshire.
You Can Ride or Volunteer
Whether you are riding or wanting to support our riders by volunteering all you need to do at the moment is to keep a look out for updates on the website, our regular monthly newsletters, and posts on our Facebook group, containing all the information you need about the event organisation, the rides, the re-fuelling stops and how to register.
Meet the Team
After heading up last year’s very successful event, Mike Walsh has volunteered to lead this year’s organising team consisting of, in addition to Mike of course, Fiona Walsh, James Grimshaw, Vince Grealy, Tim Swanwick and John Carey.
Remember to Save the Date and look out for further information about how to register as a rider or a volunteer sprinting its way to you soon.
Mid-April – Volunteering: we will be seeking volunteers to assist at the start/finish and at feed stations.
Early May – Riding: ride entries will open.
