Route 54 The Big Ride. Wharfedale, Wensleydale, Vale of York (96 miles)


Route Map Harrogate, Beckwithshaw, B6465 past the Sun Inn and straight over A59 to Menwith Hill, turn left along Menwith Hill Road, right at T jn Duck Street, Stone Cross Inn, Greenhow village, turn left on B6265 direction Grassington (Cafe stop at Stump Cross Cavern).
Grassington, minor lane on East side of Wharf signed Conistone, in Conistone bear right (no sign) minor road to Kettlewell, join B6160 to Buckden (cafe stop or pub stop).
Continue B6160 climbing to Cray and over the pass down into Bishopdale, West Burton, and turn left for Aysgarth.
Aysgarth left on A684 and immediately right to take minor road past Aysgarth Falls. T Jn turn right for Caperby, Redmire and Wensley.
In Wensley at A684 turn right, then left and follow minor road signed Middleham. Turn right on A6108 and follow through Middleham and East Witton to Jervaulx Abbey (cafe stop).
Track through Jervaulx Park or follow road around park, then minor road over R Ure and climb to Xrds, turn right. Through Thirn, over Xrds to Thornton Watlass.
Thornton Watlass, at village green turn right (no sign), continue over B6268 to 1 mile to T jn. (Possible cafe stop at Thorpe Perrow Arboretum - turn left at this Jn for 0.5miles). At T jn turn right then left for Snape.
Snape, through village and bear right at end following main road in direction of Carthorpe. After 2 miles turn right and continue to T at B6267. Turn left and 2nd jn right to Wath, right to Hutton Conyers and Ripon.
Ripon Centre (possible cafe stop at Spa Gardens) Bishop Monkton, Knaresborough and Harrogate.
