9.30am Short, medium and long rides


Short/Beginners ride - Peter Beckingham

Medium ride – Paul Tindle

Route 37 Hampsthwaite, Bishop Thornton, Knaresborough, 28 miles. 

Hornbeam, Leadhall Lane, Green Lane, Beckwith Rd, turn R down Otley Rd, and then L on to Harlow Moor Road. Over Oakdale Bridge and straight on over roundabout on Penny Pot Lane. Turn R after 0.5miles signed Hampsthwaite. Continue over A59, drop down, then turn R at T junction into Hampsthwaite. Bear R at village green to climb up Clint Bank and at T junction turn R..
At X roads at   B6165 go straight on. Continue down to Shaw Mills village, then climb up to Bishop Thornton. At X roads continue straight on to Markington. At the far end of the village turn L for Bishop Monkton. Continue over A61 to Bishop Monkton then turn R following signs for Knaresborough (café). Return to Harrogate up main road or Beryl Burton Way. 

Medium Plus ride - Steve Wright, Michael Inglis

 Route 183, Myton-on-Swale Aldwark, Boroughbridge, 39 miles, mainly flat

Hornbeam, Knaresborough, Farnham, Arkendale, L and R on A168, Marton, R and L on B6265 to Great Ouseburn, L to Aldwark Toll Bridge. L to Aldwark, L to Flawith and keep L to Myton-on-Swale (plaque about site of battle by the bridlepath bridge). Back to junction turn L and keep turning L to Brafferton and Thornton Bridge. Turn L and follow road to Boroughbridge (cafe). Back to Harrogate via Minskip, Staveley and Knaresborough. (Short route - go direct from Great Ouseburn to Boroughbridge via the Dunsforths)
