9.30am Short, medium and long rides


Short/Beginners ride - Sue Downes

Medium Slow ride - Volunteer Needed

Medium ride - Geraldine Bynoe & Joe Smith

Route 100 Timble, Blubberhouses, Thruscross, 30 miles. (hilly)

Hornbeam. Usual route to Timble, but at main road turn R to Blubberhouses. Cross straight over A59 and up some steep hills. R on Reservoir Road, continue to Stone House pub, straight over down Harper Lane, R to Thornthwaite, continue to B6451, L to Darley, R along Main Street, continue to Birstwith, up hill to Clapham Green, down to Hampsthwaite (cafe), back to Harrogate. (Or from Birstwith up to Clint and Greenway back to Harrogate.)

Alternative straight on at Reservoir Road and continue round the top of the reservoir to the T junction, turn R (heading back towards Blubberhouses) and L on Delves Ridge. Straight on past Menwith Hill until Meg Gate where you turn R to Clapham Green and down to Hampsthwaite. Slightly longer but less hilly!

Medium Plus ride – Liz Frederiksen, Dave Siswick

Route 41 Vale of York to Easingwold, 50 miles. (Mainly flat)

Hornbeam, Knaresborough Low Bridge, Farnham, Ferrensby, Arkendale. L on A168 and 1st R past Marton. R on B6265 and 1st L to Great Ouseburn.  Through Ouseburn, L to cross Aldwark Bridge, L towards Aldwark Manor. Follow signs for Alne and pick up cycle route 65 to Easingwold. At roundabout turn R and then take L into town centre for café. Reverse route out of town and head towards Raskelf then Helperby. In Helperby turn R to Thornton Bridge. Cross the river and turn L towards and into Boroughbridge. Return any route
