Awaydays 2019

Given that the system in 2018 worked well we have decided to carry on with it for 2019. Everyone will be asked to 'renew' their interest in taking part and also anyone wanting to be informed about the rides who wasn't part of the programme last year can also register. The information will be sent out in the New Year.

The dates for the Awayday Rides have been set as follows:-

These dates are still liable to change but will be confirmed in the New Year



AWAYDAY INFORMATION

A few Away Day Routes that you may wish to try


Easingwold 

Ride Start point :              Easingwold

Ride Distance:                   38 miles

Climbing :                           800 metres ( approx)

Ride Description:             

The ride starts in the centre of Easingwold and goes out towards Coxwold,  Ampleforth, Nunnington, Slingsby ( going past Castle Howard),Terrington,Bransby and Crayke and back. If the weather is good we should get good views of York Minster and the castle at Sherriff Hutton from along the ridge.

BUCKDEN ( including the climbs of Park Rash and Fleet Moss)

Ride Start point :              Buckden

Ride Distance:                   46 miles

Climbing :                           1200 metres ( approx)

Ride Description: 

The ride takes in Langstrothdale and Coverdale and is on quiet roads. It involves the climbing of Fleet Moss and Park Rash as well as the descent of Witton Steeps and therefore its a tough day- but for those who aren’t afraid to walk the tough bits its worth the effort. There are incredible views and scenery.

Yorkshire Wolds

Ride Start point :     Stamford Bridge         

Ride Distance:         50 miles        

Climbing :              900m of climbing       

Ride Description:    Starting in Stamford Bridge you head out towards Thixendale, Sledmere, Settrington, Malton then past Castle Howard and back to Stamford Bridge
